I’d like to take a minute to share a story about a young man Dex whose life was taken way too soon due to an unexpected life changing car accident and how our Diesel Family came together in this industry to do what we could to help a grieving Father cope. A couple of years ago, I went to an open house at Kingspeed. A very special friend of mine, Cristin Taylor with Diesel Performance Converters introduced me to Dex’s Father Robert Brown and his wife Stephanie. Robert shared his story about losing his young, kind and loving son in 2012 in the car accident and it has weighed on me since. Losing a loved one is never easy and the hurt seems like it may never go away. However, one thing I immediately admired about Robert was his positivity and his force to keep trucking through life with his chin up! Robert continued to tell me that his Diesel Family played a huge role in helping him get through this hard time and continues to do so! Cristin Taylor said, “That’s just what we do.” Surely, you’ve heard of the Comp D Family. If you know any of these folks, then you know what Diesel Family truly is. After talking with Robert and his wife for a while, I discovered something neat. Since Dex was always one to give a lending hand, the Diesel Family came together and created an exciting event to honor and celebrate his life. This year’s Dyno for Dex will team up with NHRDA to host a diesel drag race, show and shine, and of course the Dyno for Dex! It will be held at Tulsa Raceway Park in Tulsa, Oklahoma on May 20,2017. Get your tickets today!
As Dyno for Dex and our Diesel Family continue to come together year after year in celebration they go the extra step and keep giving back to the diesel motorsports family in need, due to these unfortunate life events that are thrown at us. Whether it be medical bills, or Mother Nature taking her course, or even the loss of a loved one. Dyno for Dex is a non-profit organization that raises money to assist anyone in the diesel industry that encounters these unanticipated expenses. Every donation made is 100% tax deductible.
If you are reading this, then most likely you are as blessed as I am to be a part of this incredible industry. #DieselLivesMatter. Show your support and be a part of the Diesel Fam Jam by clicking here.
